La Junta, the corporate event of AUGE consultancy, is almost here to discuss the challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship in Cuba.
The event will take place on December 1st at the Iberostar Grand Packard Hotel in Old Havana. MSMEs, self-employed workers, non-agricultural cooperatives, local development projects, state enterprises and institutions will discuss current issues related to the strategic areas managed by new enterprises as part of three panels.

“Our intention with this type of event is to continue supporting the efforts being made to insert non-state forms of management into the Cuban economy, as well as to link them with state enterprises and other actors. Likewise, we consider it useful to contribute with these discussions to the necessary sharing of positive experiences,” he assured.
There will also be discussions on possible opportunities for foreign investment and international cooperation, as well as the impact of social media on business models in Cuba.
The panelists will be businesspeople, academics, and according to the organizers, they also intend to include public officials related to the topics under discussion.
“We want to influence the creation of a corporate culture. We believe that becoming a company is more than just a formality. It is time to understand the present to gauge its challenges and project ourselves into the future,” Oniel says.
In the first edition of La Junta, in 2019, discussions revolved around the main regulatory changes that occurred during the year, the behavior of the economy, and the experiences of three Cuban ventures were shared.
This time, with new domestic economic actors, Oniel affirms that La Junta will become a space to bring people on board, build, analyze the present and look to the future.
