Deshidratados Habana secures a new partnership

Deshidratados Habana announced the signing of a contract with the Empresa Extrahotelera Palmares S.A. to supply products to the chain’s wide range of establishments.

“Thanks to this agreement, Restaurante Fabio is the first to use our products,” the venture announced on Facebook.

Dried banana, pineapple and coconut are just some of the products produced by this enterprise that will soon be incorporated into the dishes and drinks offered at this restaurant located in central Havana.

Since its founding in 2020, Deshidratados Habana has advocated the circular economy, zero waste, conscious consumption and healthy eating. The venture transforms what others in the food and gastronomy industry consider waste into highly nutritious products.

These principles are applied to almost everything the venture undertakes. For example, while Deshidratados makes the most of mango to produce different dried formats, thanks to a recent partnership, the venture Maxi Bebé uses the same mango to make compote.

“How? We don’t do magic, we just work on the basis of producing no food waste in such a complex scenario for local supply systems.”

Once the slices of mango required for the dried products are collected, the left over pulp near the mango stone is used by Maxi Bebé to produce its 100% natural compotes for children.

“Partnerships are crucial, as it is important to learn from those doing good business, because constant innovation is the only sure path forward. We are really pleased with this partnership that is just beginning,” the team assured.

During the First Havana Local Development Fair, held in April this year, Deshidratados Habana also signed a contract with the Havana City Historian’s Office to offer its products in the city’s famous Museo del Chocolate, Marco Polo spice store and the La Maestranza Children’s Park.

“One of the most important things are the partnerships with state enterprises, which can provide a series of opportunities. A chocolate filled with our dried fruits is soon to be launched by the Museo de Chocolate, which is just one example of what can be done,” the team stressed.
