For some, the arrival of the pandemic marked the end of their world, while for others it was the perfect opportunity for entrepreneurship and creativity.
The latter was the case for the owners of Elysi Crea, an enterprise launched by two friends dedicated to fashion jewelry, especially earrings made from recyclable materials.
Alenia Piad, violinist of the group Kialo, and Isaida Flores, a lecturer at CUJAE university, are both lovers of accessories and decided to come up with their own designs.
“Initially we thought of it as a way to save money, but given the encouragement of people who praised our work, we decided to take this entrepreneurship more seriously. We began to invent models using fabrics, cardboard and all the material that friends donated to us,” Alenia tells us.
Not having a physical store so far has not been an impediment for the founders of Elysi, as social networks have been responsible for spreading the word and displaying the work of both, in a varied catalog that suits the different tastes of their customers.
“The uniqueness of our business is that in addition to the proposals that we showcase, each person can choose the material and the model with which we will make the earrings. If you prefer to combine the accessory with a specific garment, you can give us the fabric and we work from there.
“A few months ago we launched the earrings made with thread and jute, which despite the short time they have been on the market, are very popular with our customers because the designs are authentic.”
For the summer season, they propose a more colorful line and among their projects is to expand and collaborate with other ventures.
“Sometimes it is hard to balance our work as a musician and engineer, and develop Elysi Crea at the same time, but the satisfied faces of those who buy our earrings are all the encouragement we need to continue to improve and grow.”
