Building tents and castles with the sofa cushions, sheets and bed pillows is more than just fun – it also represents an act of independence for children, in accordance with the Montessori philosophy.
Advocating the same concept and functionalities are Mauro’s tipis, a renewed version of this imaginary space to be built in any corner of the home.
This is precisely the latest proposal of the online shop of this family business, known in Cuba for making swings for babies.
According to the business’ main manager, Ruth Díaz Quintero, expanding the brand and developing other products has always been an option.
“I had been thinking about tipis for some time, designing and creating them for our buyers. A client who knows our work asked me to make one for her, and after the result of this first one, I decided to set dates and start a larger production, which we will be officially launching on the occasion of Halloween,” she told Negolution.
We are talking about a product that not only offers privacy and independence to the little ones at home, but also constitutes a space to share with friends, play family games, store toys or use as decoration.
Nowadays, more attractive and modern designs are used in its manufacture. Mauro’s has been able to leave its stamp on the product, through customization according to the preferences of its customers.
“It’s a pretty solid step as a business, even though I knew the product would be liked,” Ruth told us via WhatsApp. Although she was fearful regarding the management of materials, production costs and the time needed to make each tipi, the desire to reach more and more girls and boys always prevailed.
“So far, they have been really popular, and the result has been very satisfactory for us. It has shown us that small goals have been scalable and gives us the confidence to incorporate new products and grow as a business,” she concluded.
