What you need to know to succeed on Instagram this 2021

The number of active users on social networks in Cuba increased considerably in 2020, due, among other factors, to the expansion of Internet services on cell phones. This is shown in Digital in 2020: Cuba, the annual report prepared by the specialized creative agency We Are Social and Hootsuite, the most internationally used platform for the management of digital social networks.

Among the virtual spaces frequently used by the Cuban public, Instagram stands out, the social network of millennials. Despite not being one of the most “economic” apps in terms of data consumption, it stands out among the most trendy, occupying fourth place.

Therefore, this is one of the spaces that you must conquer if you want to be visible to another type of audience and expand. Today in Online Entrepreneurship, we bring you the tips you need to do so.

First of all, do not neglect your content. Make sure it is original and of high quality, this is the only way to build loyalty among your audience with the products and/or services you offer. Don’t forget that your posts are only seen briefly on other profiles, so create  evergreen captions, to ensure that those who follow you want to consult your content again. You can post tips, tutorials, reminders, or whatever you consider important for your audience.

Make a call to action when you post, either to highlight something in your stories, to have users scroll down to see a full carousel, or have them save the post. The latter is of great importance if you want your followers to come back to your content again and again.

Do not rely solely on feed content, remember that it is constantly updated. Take advantage of stories, there may be users who spend most of their time looking at these and not at their main wall. Create featured stories with the content you want to highlight, such as catalogs, important moments for your business, your most popular services and/or products, and even your customers’ experiences. Use them to interact with your audience too, by making use of surveys, promoting challenges, and even creating alliances with other brands.

Publish videos with creative content for your audience. They can be glimpses behind the scenes to show them who is responsible for your brand, to explain how to use products or simply how to reach you.

Pay attention to your metrics and learn to read them. Although they are an approximation, they reveal the direction in which your audience is moving. There are several applications for statistics management such as InStats, Insight, Follow Track, among others, available in the mobile app store you use. Don’t forget those which the Instagram app itself provides. But be careful, don’t let the numbers be your main motivation.

Some of these tips could help you, although each venture has its own particularities. Take advantage of what distinguishes you and makes you unique to stand out in a space where competitive content is increasing.
